Sponsored:Joint Operational Briefing Between INEC International Observers and Local Observers Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

Today, 14th August, 2026, a joint operational briefing was held between International Observers led by the Association of World Peace Advocates and Local Observers coordinated by the Civil Society Organizations on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative (CSCHEI).

CSCHEI is the team lead coordinating and supervising forty (40) INEC-accredited Civil Society Organizations for Election Observation for the Osun Governorship Election scheduled for tomorrow, 15th August, 2026.

At the meeting, clear directives were issued to all local observers to strictly abide by the provisions of the Electoral Act in the discharge of their duties. All organizations were further cautioned to refrain from reporting unverified information.

A directive was also issued that all observers must work in close collaboration with security agencies for safety and security purposes.

Speaking at the briefing, Kunle Yusuff, FincSD, MON, Director General of CSCHEI, emphasized that all observers are on national assignment and that Nigeria’s interest must be given paramount attention in the quest for democratic development.

In his remarks, the Executive Director of the Association of World Peace Advocates, an INEC International Observer, stated unequivocally that security arrangements for tomorrow’s election must be anchored on fairness, justice, and equity.
