By Chijindu Emeruwa
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress from the southeast, Hon Lady Marlene Onyeocha has expressed concern over disunity among members of the APC in Abia state.
In a statement issued at the weekend, Lady Onyeocha insisted that the party cannot thrive where favourism replaces fairness or godfatherism” overshadows competence, dedication, and service.
She emphasized that every committee member deserves equal opportunity to contribute, lead and serve, not based on connection but based on merit and loyalty to the party’s vision.
She also decried the tide of anti-party activities, particularly the harmful entanglement between APC members and elements of the ruling labour party in Abia state.
According to her, such actions weaken our collective strength and undermine the trust the public places in the party.
Onyeocha also reminded Abia members that no party can succeed when its own members dilute its structure from within.
“Our identity as progressives must be firm, and our loyalty must be consistent,”She opined.
Onyeocha therefore called on all stakeholders of the party in Abia state to embrace unity, transparency, and reconciliation.
“Let us build trust by ensuring internal democracy respecting every member’s voice, and working together for a stronger APC in Abia state.
“The future of our party depends on our ability to rise above division and stand united with one purpose: to deliver progress and good governance to our people,”She posited.
