Party Chieftain, Chiekwe Esiaga faults Abia APC on zoning

Chieftain of All Progressives Congress from Abia State, and former member of the house of representatives, Nze Chiekwe Esiaga, has faulted the purported zoning of the Abia governorship ticket to Abia central senatorial district by the leadership of the APC in the state.

Recall that Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has on Thursday, announced the zoning of its governorship ticket to Abia central Senatorial zone ahead of the 2027 general election in many states of the Nigeria federation.

The party leadership made its decision known in a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru.

Nze Chiekwe Esiaga, while faulting the party’s recent decision during an interview with newsmen on Friday in Umuahia, warned that Hon Chukwu Chijioke -led Abia executive committee of the APC must not take such a decision without the approval of the highest organ of the party in the state.

According to the party stalwart, Which Abia APC zoned the governorship ticket to Abia central zone without the approval of Abia APC Caucus?

“This also reminds me of the burning issue of the leadership of the structure being claimed and counter-claimed by the various Kalu’s.

“To the best of my knowledge, the caucus has never confirmed who should lead the party.

“I have been a member of the APC since inception and I stand to say without mincing words that it’s not the duty of the national leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to decide who should control Abia APC Structure,”the party stalwart posited.

Continuing, Nze Esiaga stated “The have put in 44 years ( 1982 to 2026) out of my entire years on earth in this game called partisan-politics .

“Abia State APC appears to be at the crossroad right now and a stitch in time saves nine,”He advised.
