Southeast Chieftain, Chris Igboko speaks on Peter Obi’s reported realignment with NDC

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress from the southeast, Hon Christopher Igboko Okoroafor, has spoken on the reported plan by the former labour party President candidate, Peter Obi to defect from ADC to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former Kano State Governor and a national leader of the coalition ADC, and Peter Obi are expected to announce their defection soon, and speculations that both men would be on the same presidential ballot in 2027general election in Nigeria.
On Saturday, the Obidient Movement urged calm as speculation mounts over a political realignment involving Peter Obi and other opposition figures.
In a statement by the National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, said Obi was in consultations with political allies and stakeholders to determine “the most strategic and effective path forward” for Nigerians
However, Hon Christopher Igboko Okoroafor in a statement on Saturday on the backdrop of the speculations , reiterated his continued loyalty and unflinching support to political realignment involving th ePeter Obi alongside other key leaders of the coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The Party Stalwart hailed Peter Obi’s unwavering commitment to the progress and unity of the country and his passion for good governance.
While lauding the sterling human and leadership qualities of the ex-Anambra governor, Hon Igboko Okoroafor described Obi as an authentic leader and a true nigerian democrat and posited that the most populous African nation in the world shall prosperous and greater under Peter Obi as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
He partly stated “Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso have made up their minds to defect from ADC to NDC in the coming days.
“My President, anywhere you go I will follow you dey go. We believe Nigeria will be okay with you as Number one person we know.
“As mentioned earlier today, Peter Obi realized he has no chance to defeat Atiku in an open primaries in ADC.
“He’ll be handed over the Presidential ticket of NDC unanimously by stakeholders of the party and he’ll pick Kwankwanso as his running mate. But I am happy now”.
