Open letter to H.E. Peter Gregory Obi, Presidential Candidate, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) – 2027

Dear H.E. Peter Obi,

I respectfully wish to suggest a different approach to campaign spending.
There are reports that as much as ₦700 million may be required for billboard advertising in Abuja. If this figure is correct, why not consider investing that money directly in young Nigerians instead? At ₦70,000 per month, ₦700 million could employ: 2,500 young Nigerians × ₦70,000 × 4 months = ₦700 million.
These 2,500 young Nigerians could be trained and deployed across the FCT as grassroots campaign ambassadors, with branded shirts, banners and flags, to engage communities, markets, families and friends, and explain the NDC’s policies and your vision for Nigeria.
If each ambassador can convince or positively influence 200 people every month in favour of the NDC, then in four months before the election:
200 × 4 × 2,500 = 2,000,000 people potentially reached or influenced. And those people can further share the message with their families, friends, colleagues and communities, potentially multiplying the campaign’s reach.
This is not about buying votes. It is about creating temporary employment, empowering young Nigerians and building genuine grassroots engagement.
A billboard displays a message; a Nigerian can explain the message.
If you and your team consider this a worthy programme, I encourage you to start it immediately.
However, if you find it difficult to identify a genuinely capable and experienced person to organise and coordinate such a programme, and you believe that my experience and capacity can deliver results for you, for Nigeria and for Nigerians, I am willing to offer my service completely free of charge.
It does not have to be me. The choice is yours and your campaign team’s.
My interest is simply to see Nigeria become better, working alongside other like-minded Nigerians, and to contribute my experience to the success of a better Nigeria.
Don’t just put your face on billboards.
Put Nigerians to work.
Respectfully,
Uche N. O. Enyioko
