The Status of Hon Mgbaja Kennedy Uchechukwu Campaign For The Umuahia South State Constituency in 2027

The attention of the Organization has been drawn to a wave of misinformation and speculative statements circulating across mainstream and social media platforms regarding our Principal, HON KENNEDY MGBAJA UCHECHUKWU
To correct the record and provide clear guidance to the electorate, we wish to state the following unequivocally.

1. The 2027 Race Remains Unchanged under the NDC HON KENNEDY MGBAJA UCHECHUKWU,a proud son of Ubakala, remains fully in the race to represent the good people of the Umuahia South state Constituency in the 2027 General Elections under the banner of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The current issues regarding his candidacy are subject to ongoing legal and electoral reviews. We urge our supporters and the general public to dismiss unverified claims treating his substitution as a finalized matter. The situation will only be settled once the appropriate electoral authorities and courts of competent jurisdiction deliver their final judgments.

2. Unwavering Loyalty to the NDC and the Peter Obi Movement
HON KENNEDY MGBAJA UCHECHUKWU is a recognized, committed national figure within the NDC. He remains a staunch ally of the political movement led by His Excellency, Peter Gregory Obi. We urge our formidable support base to remain deeply rooted in the NDC, championing our shared vision of a “New Nigeria” anchored on competence, justice, accountability, and good governance.
3. A Vision Centered on Accountable Leadership
We firmly believe that politics must be driven by issues, strong principles, and a collective desire for societal advancement. A vote for the NDC is a dual investment: it secures a better future locally and reinforces the national movement to elect H.E. Peter Obi as the President of Nigeria in 2027, ensuring public institutions finally work for the common good.
4. Commitment to Civil and Mature Politics
In a thriving democracy, every citizen possesses the fundamental right to align with any candidate or political party of their choice. While we respect political differences, disagreement must never serve as a pretext for character assassination, insults, or deliberate public deception. Our campaign commits to maintaining the highest standards of decorum, maturity, and mutual respect.
5. It Is Not Over Until It Is Over
We note the calculated attempts by political detractors to create a false narrative that Engr. Ubani’s 2027 political journey has ended. We categorically reject this premise. Because the legal framework governing his candidacy is still active, no party should prematurely celebrate or assume the final outcome.
6. The Primacy of the Rule of Law Over Party Finality
Those chanting that “the party is supreme” and that the current candidate list is “final” are spreading legal falsehoods to justify recent anomalies. Nigerian political history is replete with instances where aspirants successfully recovered their stolen mandates through the judiciary after experiencing illegal disqualifications or wrong substitutions by political parties and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Legal Precedent: Under Section 84 of the Electoral Act, while political parties hold the right to conduct primaries, the courts will robustly intervene if a party violates its own constitution or the Electoral Act. Aspirants who participated in valid primaries retain the full legal right to challenge unlawful substitutions at the Federal High Court and beyond.
7. Safeguarding Our Communal Bonds
As Ubakalans, Abians, and Nigerians, we must not let transient political rivalries dissolve our shared heritage. HON KENNEDY MGBAJA’S track record of community development and personal benevolence speaks for itself. Political seasons come and go, but the bonds of brotherhood must remain unbroken. We must refuse to let today’s politics permanently damage relationships among brothers and sisters.
8. A Cautionary Note to Our Detractors
To those currently celebrating our temporary challenges, we advise measured restraint. Political fortunes are cyclical power changes hands, administrations transition, and those in positions of influence today may find themselves on the receiving end of institutional unfairness tomorrow. What affects HON KENNEDY MGBAJA UCHECHUKWU today could easily affect anyone else tomorrow, regardless of village or political camp.
9. Power is Fleeting, Precedents Endure
Political offices and electoral victories are temporary, but the moral and legal precedents we establish today will impact our communities for generations. Let us refrain from cheering for injustice simply because it serves a temporary partisan advantage.
10. Firm, Resilient, and United
The Organization stands resolutely behind HON KENNEDY MGBAJA UCHECHUKWU Our loyalty is not contingent on smooth sailing; it is built on the firm conviction that political hurdles must be met with courage, faith, and rigorous lawful action. We will utilize every legitimate window available to claim what is rightfully ours.
11. An Appeal for Calm and Unity
We appeal to all sons and daughters of the constituency to remain calm, law-abiding, united, and prayerful. Let us guard our families and friendships against political division. We may differ in opinion, but we remain family.
12. Our Hope for Victory in 2027
HON KENNEDY MGBAJA UCHECHUKWU remains focused, unshaken, and prepared to deliver inclusive representation that prioritizes the needs of the masses over partisan greed. We are entirely confident that, by the grace of the Almighty God and through the lawful processes of the land, our Principal will emerge victorious to serve as your Umuahia South state house of assembly Representative in 2027.
“A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24
“In the prosperity of our friends, we find out how much they love us; in their adversity, we find out how much we love them.” Saint Augustine
“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” Confucius
The political storm may rage, but our faith remains unyielding. It is not over until it is over.
GOD BLESS HON KENNEDY MGBAJA UCHECHUKWU
GOD BLESS THE NIGERIA DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC)
GOD BLESS UMUAHIA SOUTH STATE CONSTITUENCY
