2027: Abia senatorial aspirant, Chikwendu unveils new political party after resignation from LP

Ahead of 2027 elections, frontline Senatorial aspirant for Abia South district, Comrade James Chibuzo Chikwendu, has insisted that his recent resignation from the labour party in Abia state won’t affect his latest political bid.
This is even as the Abia senatorial aspirant formally announced his entry into Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), with massive throngs of supporters in Abia state.
Speaking with newsmen on Friday in Aba,Comrade Chikwendu maintained that he is still in the Abia south senatorial race under the platform of the NDC, ahead of the forthcoming primary election by the party leadership in the state.
He described NDC as a viable political platform upon which a true democratic governance will be entrenched in all leadership levels in Nigeria
While hinting on his lastest senatorial bid, Comrade James Chikwendu decried the poor representation of Abia South senatorial zone in the national assembly, adding that the legislative misrepresentation has denied and hindered the efforts by the zone to benefit in government’s provision of critical infrastructures to engender development across local communities in Abia south senatorial district.
Comrade Chikwendu maintained that he possessed the needed capacity to make a difference in legislative governance, assuring to represent Abia south senatorial district effectively by sponsoring development-oriented bills and make impactful laws to strengthen all relevant institutions of governance in Nigeria.
He commended the leadership members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress for their unwavering commitments and display of unity of purpose as NDC is ready and positioned to assume leadership of the country and provide basic dividends of democracy to every doorsteps of Nigerian citizens.
Comrade James Chikwendu reiterated his promise to engender effective and responsive representation when elected as senator representing Abia South senatorial zone come next year, while calling all eligible people from the zone to register and obtain their permanent voters cards so as to vote in capable and credible individuals to lead them.
“Because, PVC will afford them the opportunity to vote and to be voted for. Only your voters card gives you the power and weapon to contribute to the decision-making process in the society,”
