Senator Nwebonyi’s Farm Inputs Distribution Berths in Ebonyi LGA, Distributes 1,000 Bags of Fertilizer To Farmers

The farm inputs distribution committee of the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, led by his SSA on Community Engagement and Human Welfare, Apostle Benjamin Obeji on Tuesday berthed in Ugbodo, headquarters of Ebonyi Local Government Area, where it distributed 1,000 bags of fertilizer to farmers across the fourteen electoral wards of the council.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Executive Chairman of Ebonyi Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Uburu, extolled the relentless efforts of Senator Nwebonyi towards achieving food security in Ebonyi North through the timely annual distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers.

Prince Uburu also commended Senator Nwebonyi for what he described as his unprecedented achievements in the 10th Nigerian Senate.

He urged the people of Ebonyi North to reciprocate the Senator’s gestures by massively supporting him and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

He cautioned against voting for candidates across different political parties in the same election, stressing the importance of maintaining political synergy between elected representatives at different levels of government.

Addressing the mammoth crowd of farmers drawn from the various wards, the Coordinator of the Farm Inputs Distribution Committee in Ebonyi LGA and APC Chairman, Hon. Patrick Orogbo, eulogized Senator Nwebonyi for his remarkable legislative achievements and effective representation.

Hon. Orogbo charged the beneficiaries to remain steadfast in their support for Senator Nwebonyi and the present administration, particularly as the 2027 general elections approach.

Formally flagging off the distribution, the representative of Senator Nwebonyi, Barr. Patrick Mbam, noted that the annual distribution of farm inputs has become a major intervention initiative of the Senator, designed to support farmers, boost agricultural productivity and improve food security across Ebonyi North.

According to him, Senator Nwebonyi understands that Ebonyi North is predominantly agrarian and that empowering farmers with essential agricultural inputs remains critical to increasing their yields and improving their livelihoods.

Barr. Mbam, however, appealed to the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the fertilizers by applying them to their farms rather than selling them.

In their separate remarks, the APC Chairmanship candidate for Ebonyi LGA, Hon. Chibueze Odigwe; Coordinator, Ebonyi Development Centre, Hon. Destiny Nwodom; former Coordinator of Mbeke Development Centre, Hon. Godwin Nwode; Special Assistant to the Governor of Ebonyi State on Women Mobilization, Hon. Pauline Nwagu; and Apostle Benjamin Obeji, commended Senator Nwebonyi for his remarkable achievements and commitment to the development of Ebonyi North.

They described the Senator’s second-term bid as sacrosanct and urged the people of the zone to continue to support his programmes and initiatives.

The fertilizer distribution is part of Senator Nwebonyi’s sustained commitment to supporting agriculture, guaranteeing food security, reducing poverty and promoting economic prosperity among the people of Ebonyi North Senatorial District.
