PETITION AGAINST THE PURPORTED NDC PRIMARY ELECTION FOR BENDE SOUTH STATE CONSTITUENCY HELD ON 29TH MAY 2026

PETITION FOR THE NULLIFICATION OF THE PURPORTED PRIMARY ELECTION FOR BENDE SOUTH STATE CONSTITUENCY

I, Iheanyi Okoronkwo, an aspirant for the Bende South State Constituency seat under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), respectfully submit this petition against the purported primary election said to have been conducted on 29th May 2026 at Uzuakoli Civic Centre, Uzuakoli, Abia State.

Grounds for Petition

The scheduled primary election was not conducted in accordance with the party’s guidelines and democratic principles.
Upon arrival at the designated venue, there were no electoral materials available for the conduct of the primary election.

There were no ballot papers, result sheets, accreditation materials, or other election materials required for the conduct of a valid primary election.
No voting exercise took place at the venue, as delegates were not accredited and no ballots were cast.

There were no duly constituted party electoral officials present to organize and supervise the conduct of the primary election.

As a result of the absence of electoral materials and the failure to conduct voting, no valid primary election was held at the designated venue on the stated date.

Any result purportedly announced or submitted as arising from the said exercise cannot represent the true will of delegates and party members of Bende South State Constituency.

Reliefs Sought

In view of the foregoing, I respectfully request that the Appeal Committee:
Declare the purported primary election for Bende South State Constituency held on 29th May 2026 null and void.
Set aside and cancel any result or declaration arising from the purported exercise.

Direct the conduct of a fresh primary election in accordance with the party constitution, guidelines, and applicable laws.

Ensure that all accredited delegates are given a fair opportunity to participate in a transparent, credible, and democratic primary election.

Grant any other relief deemed just and necessary in the circumstances.
