Insecurity: Ex- presidential aspirant, Onwusoanya Ezendigbo harps on improved education, job creation by governments in Nigeria

Former presidential aspirant, Chief CBN Onwusoanya Ezendigbo, has tasked governments on prioritization of education and job creation in Nigeria.

Onwusoanya who was speaking on Tuesday, attributed the worsening insecurity in some parts of the country to lack of proper education and joblessness.

The technocrat insisted that government must invest in education sector, provide professional and skilled jobs for her citizens in order to curtail acts of criminalities being experienced in some parts of the country.

“Federal and state governments should provide modern infrastructure, and institutionalize tuition-free education in all levels to address insecurity and unemployment.

“Youths, elder men and women in this country need job. When there are jobs, youths won’t have time to engage in crime or constitutes themselves as terrorists, bandits, and kidnappers. There’s urgent need for President, governors, and members of the national assembly to ensure job creation for people to be self-reliant, and also become productive to the society.

Onwusoanya Ezendigbo also advocated legislations from the national assembly prohibiting elected public office holders, appointees, and their children’s in seeking admission in foreign universities as first choice.

He noted that the outrageous resources being spent by these class of citizens in acquiring educations overseas can be channeled to upgrading Nigeria schools to global standards.

The concerned stakeholder also harped on improved healthcare delivery system in Nigeria.

Onwusoanya Ezendigbo lamented the infrastructural decadence and non-availiablity of drugs and basic medical facilities in many government-owned general hospitals across the country.

He clamored increased budgets allocations by governments for the nation’s health sector, towards ensuring upgrading of primary health centres in states of the federation with modern medical equipments.
