Uche Ogah traded APC gubernatorial ticket for selfish gains–Prophet Ukauwa

Founder and General Overseer of the Information Rhema Power Synagogue International, Prophet Godspower Ukauwa, has accused the former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uchechukwu Ogah for trading the chance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to clinch the Abia state governorship seat in 2023 election.

He made the accusation during an interaction with journalists on Sunday in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State Capital.

Prophet Ukauwa who was also former governorship hopeful on the platform of APC, adduced the rationale behind his withdrawal from Abia gubernatorial race before the concluded primaries held in the state by the national leadership of the progressive party for the 2023 polls.
According to him, “Before the last gubernatorial primary election conducted in Abia state, i met Uche Ogah and our discussions centered on party affairs and collaboration to ensure the success of APC during the concluded main elections conducted in the state by the Nigeria electoral commission. As a political leader, i consulted and deliberated extensively with my family, associates and teeming supporters across the local government areas of Abia state on matters concerning my political ambition and the forthcoming APC primaries. Decisions were taken, and i and other leading contenders withdrew from the Abia gubernatorial primaries of the APC that led to emergence of Ogah as party candidate for the main 2023 governorship poll.
“And my decision backing out from Abia APC gubernatorial race before the primaries was borne out of comradeship, patriotism, and gave him full supports. Because, i believed then he possessed the ability and needed capacity like me to win election for APC. Unfortunately, we and Abia people never knew he was not sincere with his governorship bid. That he was in the race and traded APC ticket to the then ruling party in Abia state and knowing earlier that he would not win the main governorship election. Knowing that he will be nominated as federal minister by then President Muhammadu Buhari as being the APC flagbearer for the Abia 2023 gubernatorial election.
Prophet Ukauwa insisted that Uche Ogah betrayed the trust reposed in him by members of the APC and majority of Abia people who were then desirous of change of political leadership in the state, and traded the state gubernatorial ticket of the party for selfish personal gains.
“Ogah deceived party members and Abia people with fake promises to work for good of the state but not knowing he was full of deceits and wicked antics to curry personal selfish gains to the detriments of majority of Abia electorates who supported him and also had so much trust in him towards rescuing them from clutches of democratic misrule of then PDP led administrations in Abia. None of his electoral promises he made to Abia people that he fulfilled including his promises during my meeting with him at his house in onuaku uturu country home before his emergence”.
Continuing, Prophet Ukauwa also revealed that he has refrained himself from the activities of the APC since after the last general elections in Abia, attributing his decision to the lack of display of capacity by the ruling party controlled government towards solving the myriads of problems impeding Nigeria’s efforts to attain economic greatness.
He lashed out APC led federal government of Nigeria for the continued incarceration of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu at cell facility of the department of state service (DSS).
The cleric frowned at the government’s refusal to heed to voices of reasons from Nigerians and international communities for unconditional release of the detained Biafra successionist leader.
He queried “Why should I continue to be a member of APC when government of APC is still holding my brother, Nnamdi Kanu on trumped-up terrorism charges despite judicial pronouncements ordering his release from detention.
“Why should continue to be APC member when this government has failed to demonstrate capacity and willpower to address, increased unemployment rate, infrastructural decadence, hungry, insecurity and others bedeviling this country and its citizens,”Prophet Ukauwa posited.
On the current state of affairs in Abia state, Prophet Godspower Ukauwa gave a pass mark to Governor Alex Otti on his administration’s infrastructural revolution across the state.
He opined that the policy thrusts being implemented by the Otti-led administration has transformed critical sectors of the state economy, and significantly placed Abia for greatness.
Prophet Ukauwa described those nursing to unjustly unseat the performing governor in 2027 as political vampires whose intents are to relaunch looting spree Abia people witnessed for twenty-three years under successive past administrations led by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Emphasizing that Abia electorates won’t afford to alter the current transformational leadership in the state for political moneybags and political adventurers in 2027 Prophet Ukauwa admonished the state government critics to shelve their inordinate ambitions and support Governor Otti’s continuity so as to enable him consolidate on his numerous modest developmental strides and as well do more for a better Abia.
