2027:The Need To Confront Rearing Crisis in NDC

Truth is truth, and no amount of partisan sentimentality or political sugarcoating can alter its unyielding weight. If Senator Seriake Dickson truly seeks to build a formidable political force under the banner of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general elections, he must confront the harsh realities staring him in the face today.

The recent uploading of National Assembly candidates by the NDC is nothing short of a national outrage. By any objective standard, the party has scored abysmally low through these choices. What was presented to the public is an utter embarrassment that decries the blatant ineptitude of the NDC leadership. The party’s deliverables have exposed its inner machinery to neophytes and political novices who possess neither the tactical gravitas nor the structural grit required to survive Nigeria’sgruelling electoral landscape.

Sen. Dickson must smell the coffee right now—unless, of course, he has quietly traded 2027 for 3031.
Politics is not a mere wave or emotional movement. The groundswell behind leaders like Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso does not automatically translate into electoral victory at the ballot boxes.
Popularity movements only provide fertile farmland; it takes a discerning, practical farmer to cultivate the soil and reap an actual harvest. Electoral victories are secured through political experience, seasoned professionalism, an unyielding record of grassroots consciousness, and intimate familiarity with the electorate. Winning elections is a deliberate, calculated action powered by well-lubricated machinery, strong field commanders, and deep-rooted networks.
It is time for Mr. Dickson to wake up. The slumber is becoming too deep, and the snores are growing dangerously loud. This upcoming campaign is not a street carnival; it is a full-scale political battle. A winning war chest must consist of tested generals, not political lightweights or accidental aspirants. Peter Obi cannot be sent into a high-stakes national war surrounded by lame ducks.
The party leadership must overhaul its approach immediately and replace incompetence with strategic structure.
Remember the age-old warning: he who fights for a never-do-well will always have a back filled with earth to show for it.
