Super Eagles goalkeeper Nnadozie joins Brighton

Brighton & Hove Albion Women have completed the signing of Nigeria international goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie on a free transfer from Paris FC, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 24-year-old, widely regarded as one of Africa’s top goalkeepers, will officially join the Seagulls on 1 July when her contract with the French side expires.

Nnadozie brings a wealth of experience to Brighton, having earned 55 senior caps for the Nigerian national team since her debut in April 2018 against France.
She also boasts a rich club pedigree, with over 100 appearances for Paris FC and significant European experience.
The former Rivers Angels star was instrumental in Paris FC’s success during her time in France. She made 118 appearances for the club and played a pivotal role in their 2025 Coupe de France Féminine final win over Paris Saint-Germain, saving two penalties in a standout performance.
Between 2022 and 2025, Nnadozie made 16 appearances in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Her outstanding performances were recognised in 2024 when she became the first African goalkeeper to win the UNFP Division 1 Féminine Goalkeeper of the Season. That same year, she was also named D1 Arkema Best Goalkeeper of the Season.
Brighton manager Dario Vidosic was full of praise for the club’s new signing: “She’s a talented and commanding goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to our defensive line. We’re confident she’ll add both depth and drive to a squad already full of ambition as we continue to build for next season.”
Nnadozie’s club career began at Nigeria’s Rivers Angels, where she helped secure the Nigeria Women’s Premier League title in 2019 and lifted the Nigeria Women’s Cup three times.
Her early promise earned her continental recognition in 2019 when she was named IFFHS Africa’s Best Woman Goalkeeper.
Internationally, Nnadozie represented Nigeria at Under-17 and Under-20 levels before rising to become the Super Falcons’ No.1.
Her move to Brighton marks a significant step in her career and a boost to the WSL side’s ambitions for the coming season.
