Ebonyi:Senator Nwebonyi returns from US tour to rousing welcome, promises more democratic dividends

The Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, on Sunday, August 2, 2026, received a rousing welcome from a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters and youths on his return to Abakaliki after a week-long working tour of the United States of America.

Addressing the jubilant crowd, Senator Nwebonyi explained that his visit to the United States was aimed at sharing legislative experiences with his counterparts and understudying the American model of modern concrete road construction technology to further improve the quality and durability of his constituency projects across Ebonyi North Senatorial District adding that he procured modern concrete pavement machine to be deployed in the construction of roads.

The Director General of Senator Nwebonyi’s Support Groups, Hon. Friday Nwigube, conveyed the groups’ heartfelt felicitations to the Senator in recognition of his impressive scorecard.

He assured that the people of Ebonyi North would overwhelmingly vote for Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, the Governor, whom he described as the state’s best-performing Governor, as well as all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The indefatigable lawmaker also used the opportunity to inspect the ongoing construction of the Ebonyi–Benue–Abuja Link Road, a strategic federal road project he facilitated.

He expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work, commending the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, for his commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure.

Senator Nwebonyi also lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its transformational road infrastructure initiatives across the country, describing them as a critical foundation for national development and economic growth.

Reaffirming his commitment to the welfare of his constituents, Senator Nwebonyi assured the people of Ebonyi North of even greater dividends of democracy in the years ahead.
