Prophet Ukauwa blames igbo political elites over Nnamdi Kanu’s continued incarceration

Founder and General Overseer of the Information Rhema Power Synagogue International, Prophet Godspower Ukauwa, has criticized the continuation incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by the federal government of Nigeria.

Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) is standing criminal trial before Justice James Omotosho led Federal High Court in Abuja on terrorism charges slammed on him by the Nigerian government.

However, Prophet Godspower Ukauwa in a statement on Thursday, blamed Nnamdi Kanu ‘s continued incarceration at cell facility of department of state service (DSS) on Igbo political elites, and lamented that these elites have refused to speak out and prevail on federal government to release the successionist leader unconditionally due to individual selfish interests.

According to him, “Why these igbo political leaders don’t want to talk about Nnamdi Kanu’s release is because of the coming 2027 elections. They are afraid when he comes out from detention, there won’t be any election. That’s the reason the Igbo elites don’t want to agitate or speak against Kanu’s continued incarceration by the federal authority just because of their selfish interests.

“These Igbo elites don’t want Kanu to be released. They’re the ones holding the young man in cell. Because they feels he will spoil a lot of tings for them. The truth is that there is no comparison between Nnamdi Kanu and these political elites. There’s nobody like Nnamdi Kanu in Nigeria. If you are talking about people like Nnamdi Kanu, you compare him with great men like Nelson Mandela, Ibrahim Traore, Putin etc.

“So, these elites are afraid of him. They know that Kanu is a man of wisdom. They know the young man is a prophet sent by God for transformation of humanity and society. And that’s why they don’t want him released. These Igbo political elites are playing politics with Kanu’s dilemma. They want to silence and kill him,”Ukauwa posited.

Continuing, Prophet Ukauwa said “I have said it countless time that God revealed to me in 2021, that if anything happens to Nnamdi Kanu, Nigeria will be grounded to powder. God showed me the country that would fight Nigeria. I called people and told them what God said. Do you see me talk about politics anymore? Am speaking now because am afraid of what may be befell Nigeria concerning Kanu matter.

Prophet Ukauwa reiterated his admonition to the federal authority to engage in comprehensive dialogue with Kanu and other successionist groups to guarantee socio-economic and political stability in the country.

“The federal government’s approach towards this matter has sent a dangerous signals. Government is digging grave for Nigeria to be buried looking at the way this Kanu’s issue is being handled. They should dialogue with this young man because the more they hold him longer in captivity, the more tensions will continue escalating”.

While advocating for dialogue between government and the detain IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, Prophet Godspower Ukauwa urged President Bola Tinubu-led federal government to address the myriads of problems bedeviling the country, envisioning a revolution against political leaders by the people, mostly the youths.

According to the cleric, “I saw Nigerian people arose and said no to every impunity. I saw the people arose and said we don’t want this governments again. I’m standing as a prophet to said this. It’s going to happen where nation would be fighting against nation.

He therefore advised governments in all levels to implement impactful policies and programs towards cushioning the harsh effects of economic hardship, hunger, and insecurity on Nigeria citizens.
