The Abia North Zonal Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Engr. Chidiebere Okoh, has reiterated that there is no faction in the state chapter of the party.

Okoh emphasized that the Abia ADC remains intact under the chairmanship of Don Norman Obinna, who has demonstrated strong leadership capacity since taking office

This statement comes in response to the purported appointment of certain individuals as party zonal executive committee members by a parallel structure of ADC led by Iyke Nwoke in Abia State.

In an interview with newsmen on Thursday, Okoh alleged that the splinter group is sponsored by an opposition party to create animosity among dedicated ADC members in the state.

“We do not have any faction in Abia State ADC and never will. “The question is, how come it’s less than 24 hours after the NEC and NWC of ADC clarified that Don Norman Obinna remains the authentic chairman of the party, that this group, sponsored by members of another political party, decided to push out names? I smell a rat.

“This is a non-issue, except that one of the names they attached is a strong supporter of our chairman who was never consulted.”

Okoh urged loyal members and supporters of the ADC in Abia State to shun the “evil antics” of disgruntled opposition elements and remain steadfast in their support for the state leadership as it repositions the party for future electoral prospects.

The ADC zonal secretary expressed confidence that the intention to create animosity among dedicated members is “dead on arrival.”
