Primaries: Lists purporting to contain names of successful aspirants do not emanate from appropriate party authorities-Abia NDC

The Abia State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), on Thursday, says its attention has been drawn to various lists and claims circulating on social media and other unofficial platforms purporting to contain the names of successful aspirants from the recently conducted party primaries nationwide.

In a press statement by the State Publicity Secretary, Elder Nwokoma Oddy Bethel, the leadership of the NDC stated categorically that the party national leadership has not released any official list of successful aspirants arising from the primaries.

The Abia NDC urged the members of the public, party faithfuls, aspirants, and stakeholders to disregard such publications, as they do not emanate from the appropriate authorities of the party.

The statement by the state party leadership partly read “As clearly stated by the National Leadership, the outcomes of party primaries are communicated through established formal channels and not through unofficial social media publications or speculative reports.

“The party remains committed to ensuring that all processes are concluded in accordance with its guidelines and the provisions of the law.

“Members are therefore urged to remain calm, patient, and law-abiding while awaiting official communication from the party.

“The NDC appreciates the support, understanding, and commitment of all its members and stakeholders during this period and assures them that every necessary step is being taken to strengthen unity and confidence within the party”.
