NASS 2027:Chikwendu remains authentic winner of Abia south senatorial primary election-NDC Chairmen insists

The Chairmen of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Abia south senatorial zone in Abia State, has insisted that Comrade James Chibuzo Chikwendu remained the authentic winner of the concluded NDC primary election held for Abia south senatorial district seat on 29th May 2026.

The party chairmen affirmed that the outcome of the senatorial primary election conducted in Abia south senatorial district reflected the collective decision and mandate of party members and stakeholders who participated in the process.

The NDC Chairmen in Abia south senatorial district made their position known in a communique issued on Monday, after an extensive consultation and comprehensive review of the conduct and outcome of the party senatorial primary election held in May.

The chairmen called on the leadership of the party to respect and protect the mandate freely given to Chikwendu by delegates and stakeholders in Abia south senatorial district.

They further called on the national leadership of the NDC to uphold the principles of fairness, justice and internal democracy by recognizing and affirming the outcome of the concluded primary election held for Abia south senatorial district seat in May.

While lauding Comrade James Chikwendu for his exceptional dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment demonstrated towards the growth and advancements of the party in Abia south senatorial district and beyond, the NDC chairmen in Abia South district reiterated their total support for Comrade James Chibuzo Chikwendu.

According to the party leaders, “Over time, he has distinguished himself through consistent support for party structures, empowerment of members, promotion of party ideals, and active participation in activities aimed at strengthening the NDC.

“His leadership, accessibility, and loyalty to the party have earned him widespread acceptance among stakeholders and members across the Abia south senatorial district,”They stated.

The chairmen commended delegates, party executive members, electoral officials , aspirants and members whose conduct, according to them, contributed to the peaceful and successful completion of the primary election.

“We also acknowledge the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by members throughout the exercise and encourage the sustenance of such democratic culture,”They posited.

The Abia party chairmen therefore urged all party members, leaders, and stakeholders to remain united and focused on the larger objective of building a stronger and more successful NDC.
