NASS 2027: Imo Group laud Philip Ejiogu’s leadership qualities, backs Reps bid

The Forum of Imo Democrats (FIMD), a pro-democracy and think-tank body, has lauded the outstanding leadership qualities of Hon Philip Ejiogu, describing him as an accomplished Nigerian and a authentic democrat.

Hon Philip Ejiogu is the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) House of Representatives Flagbearer for Owerri federal constituency in the forthcoming 2027 elections.
Forum of Imo Democrats (FIMD) whose membership is drawn from the twenty-seven (27) local government areas of Imo State, in a statement made available to the press, lauded Hon Philip Ejiogu’s resilience and commitment to nation-building and development.
The statement by the socio-political group was signed by the Chairman, Surveyor Samuel Onyewuchi and Secretary General, Ambassador Chinedu Emeruwa.
The forum noted that Hon Philip Ejiogu’s invaluable contributions towards deepening democracy in Imo state and Nigeria cannot be overemphasized, Forum of Imo Democrats (FIMD) also noted that Hon Philip Ejiogu has remained unwavering in her pursuit of good governance in Imo state and the larger country.
The pro-democracy forum further noted Hon Philip Ejiogu’s continued support for human empowerment, community development, and as well passion for good governance.
“Hon Philip Ejiogu has remained committed to public service and also dedicated to the advancement of democratic values in Imo state and larger Nigeria. And this illustrious son of Imo state has continuously demonstrated his desire to contribute to societal building and development, having chaired and coordinated professional bodies effectively and efficiently.
Forum of Imo Democrats (FIMD) therefore, threw their weights behind Hon Philip Ejiogu’s national assembly bid, describing his recent emergence as the NDC House of Representatives candidate for Owerri federal constituency as a beginning of a new chapter of progress and purposeful leadership in the federal constituency.
The forum expressed confidence in the ability and capacity of Hon Philip Ejiogu in driving even development and uplifting local communities across Owerri federal constituency through attractions of the government’s provision of critical infrastructural amenities and projects when elected into the house of representatives.
According to the forum, “Aside from attracting meaningful socio-economic and infrastructural projects across Owerri federal constituency, we believe Hon Philip Ejiogu equally possessed the wherewithal to pursue and make impactful laws that strengthen all statutory and relevant institutions of democratic governance in Nigeria.
“He has remained a defender of justice and advocate for the rights and welfare of average Nigerians.
“The confidence and widespread acceptance he enjoys among the electorates in Owerri federal constituency will turn into electoral victory for NDC in the coming general election next year,”the forum noted.
Forum of Imo Democrats (FIMD) pledged to rally bulk votes for NDC House of Representatives candidate, Hon Philip Ejiogu, to ensure his total victory in the upcoming election in 2027 in Owerri federal constituency by the independent national electoral commission (INEC).
The pan-democracy and advocacy body also used the medium to call on all eligible Imo citizens to ensure they utilize their permanent voters cards (PVC) and choose capable and credible individuals as their leaders in the forthcoming general election in the state and the country as a whole.
“Every eligible Imo citizens should ensure they utilize their permanent voters cards (PVC), because, it is the only weapon and power vested on citizens by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to effect a change in government, and vote in credible people to mount leadership saddle in all levels in the country,”They stated.
