Miracle Chukwunenye: Why Governor Otti is not bothered about his reelection
Recently, the opposition in Abia have been so restless, it appears that the syndrome of restlessness that has trailed them right from the inception of Dr. Alex Otti as Governor of Abia State seems to have multi doubled.
Although the surge in their camp is understandable since the Ben Kalu format came on board, their stock in trade has been to ride on the veracity and toxicity of the number 6 without number 6, just for their voices to be heard.
Yes, it’s so, because to be in opposition in Abia currently, you don’t have to make sense. Once you are good at writing gibberish, throwing needless tantrums, and hurling insults, you’re automatically qualified.
Just be foolish and you’re good to go. Even if you don’t have a party, you’ll be enrolled into their new PDAPC coalition, Abia Chapter.
Now, let’s get straight to the point, beyond the noise and the nonsensical jargons from the marauders of bitterness lies the untamable fact that Governor Dr. Alex Otti is not at all bothered about his reelection.
Yes, you heard that right, the Governor is too occupied with fixing the mess in the state. As an administration that’s just two years and a few months old, Governor Otti is mindless of irks and distractions. He’s more focused on delivering Abia from the enslavement of yesteryears.
It is his most sincere focus and purpose to ensure that all roads in Abia are made motorable before the end of 2025. He is deeply committed to ensuring that the 200 PHCs currently undergoing rehabilitation are completed and another 200 flagged off, until every ward in the state gets at least one primary healthcare centre, that’s his main objective.
Tell me, why should a man who has transformed our institutions and is still doing more be bothered? A man who is interested in recruiting more workers, aside from the already recruited 5,394 teachers, ongoing recruitment of 771 health workers is underway, with more yet to come, all for the purpose of empowerment and growth. A man whose stock in trade is to ensure that Abia is not just first in letters but first in development.
Governor Otti is even more interested in bringing more investors into the state than thinking about a faraway 2027 election.
Now, let me tell you, Abians are fully aware that Governor Otti is not bothered about his reelection. In fact, as of today, Ndi Abia have collectively told Governor Otti to leave that to them.
He has changed the narrative of governance. There’s a clear shift from what governance used to be synonymous with. While others are panicking and diving into another party out of fear for reelection, man like Otti remain unbothered.
He is more interested in ensuring that the Enyimba Hotel, Abia Urban Transport Renewal, Electric Bus Project, Abia Medical City, and numerous other projects scattered across the state are completed, while more and more are being flagged off. That’s why he looks unshaken.
While everybody is panicking over 2027, ask Governor Alex Otti and he will tell you that all power belongs to God. And true to his word, power indeed belongs to God, the same God who gave him victory even when the so called powers that be in 2023 said otherwise.
Governor Alex Otti was never perturbed, because he knew that all power truly belongs to God. Through that faith and belief, the power manifested with full velocity, and the 2023 election became one of the most celebrated victories across the state.
Therefore, I say to you, my brethren, fellow Ottified apostles, do not be bothered. Allow those who want to bother to keep bothering. Their lives have been defined by calamity, let them walk the crooked path of nemesis in their own confused minds. In their world, 2027 came too early, but in our world, 2027 is still far ahead and nothing to worry about.
Get your PVCs, dust them, and prepare for the fulfilment of the word that was spoken from the beginning, Governor Alex Otti is the chosen one, the man whom God has ordained. Therefore, he need not worry about what tomorrow may bring, for tomorrow will take care of itself.
Hear this from me, 2027 is not a battle, it is the fulfilment of a covenant between Ndi Abia and Governor Alex Otti.
