EFCC declares ex-Abia commissioner wanted over alleged criminal conspiracy

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared Christopher Enweremadu wanted over alleged fraud.

Enweremadu was a former speaker of Abia state House of Assembly, and also ex-commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs during the administration of former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

In a notice posted on its website on Wednesday, Christopher Enweremadu is declared wanted by the Nigeria anti-graft agency in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy, diversion of public funds, stealing and money laundering.
The notice by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission came after two years ago a group, concerned Abia Youths (CAY) called for probe of former commissioner over diversion of N1.160 billion funds meant for the development of infrastructures in local government areas of Abia state.
