Edo 2027: Pro-democracy Group rallies support for Saliu Momoh for Reps seat

A socio-political organization, Progressive Edo Youths For Good Governance (PEYG),has lauded the sterling leadership qualities of Alhaji Saliu Momoh.

Progressive Edo Youth for Good Governance, whose membership is drawn from Owan East and Owan West local government areas of Edo State, in a statement on Saturday, hailed Alhaji Saliu Momoh ‘sresilience and commitment to nation-building.

The statement by the women group, was signed by the President, Comrade Jonathan Ihonvbere and Secretary-General, Michael Agbebaku.

While noting that Alhaji Saliu Momoh ‘s invaluable contributions towards deepening democracy in Nigeria cannot be overemphasized, Progressive Edo Youths for Good Governance (PEYG) also noted that Alhaji Saliu Momoh Momoh has remained unwavering in her pursuit of gender equality in the country.

The pro-democracy group further expressed confidence in the capacity of Alhaji Saliu Momoh in delivering impactful laws that engendered youth, men and women empowerment, and as well as strengthen all relevant institutions of democratic governance in Nigeria.

Progressive Edo Youths for Good Governance (PEYG), described as a welcome development, the recent decision of Alhaji Saliu Momoh to contest Owan federal constituency seat in the house of representatives in 2027.

According to the group, there’s no doubts that Alhaji Saliu Momoh when supported to emerge as next member representing Owan federal constituency at the green chamber of the national assembly will provide effective, efficient, and responsive representation.

Progressive Edo Youths for Good Governance pledged to rally maximum support and bulk votes for the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Saliu Momoh, to emerge victorious in the coming party primaries, and the main poll in 2027.

Progressive Edo Youths for Good Governance (PEYG), therefore used the medium to call on the leadership of the APC in Edo State to cede its Owan federal constituency seat ticket to Alhaji Saliu Momoh, whom they described as a woman of enormous capacities, and the best brain for the plum legislative job.

The Edo youths further urged every eligible Nigerian citizens to participate in the ongoing nationwide voters registration exercise by the Independent national electoral commission, so as to enable them exercise their franchise in next year’s general election in the country.

“The citizenry should ensure it register and collect their permanent voters cards (PVC), because, it is the only weapon and power vested on citizens by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to effect a change in government, and vote in credible people to mount leadership saddle in all levels in the country,”PEYG stated.
