Don Lulu: Creating A New Vista Of Hope In Rural Development And Youth Empowerment.

In the roll call of young African achievers making indelible marks in business, philanthropy, entertainment, and politics, one name stands tall. Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, (Don Lulu).

A refreshing figure whose works and impact speak louder than words. A youth, whose name resonates with business success, philanthropy, youth empowerment, and visionary politics.

For the people of Abia State, particularly the Ohuhu people of Umuahia, he is not just a son but a true harbinger of hope and development.

Mayor Igbokwe’s life is a testament to what passion, vision, and selflessness can achieve.

As the CEO of Don Media Group Comprising of 2Flame Media, Lucion Towers Construction, and Green Peace Nigeria, he is firmly established as an astute businessman.

Yet, what sets him apart is not merely his entrepreneurial genius, but the heart with which he invests in people. Through his Don Lulu Foundation, he has redefined philanthropy, not as an occasional gesture of charity but as a sustained commitment to community building and youth upliftment.

In 2013, the United Nations recognized this innate potential and spirit of service, and bestowed on him the prestigious title of Mayor of Peace.

For him, however, the greatest award has always been the smiles of those whose lives he has touched.

Rural women in petty trade that have received financial lifelines. Families once without shelter who now live in decent homes built through his generosity.

His intervention in education saw the construction and equipment of a block of classrooms in Umuawa Alaocha Primary School, through Sen. T. A Orji, a gesture that ensures that children learn in dignity.

His efforts at rural electrification has also been seen through installation and energization of electric transformers which restored power and brightened homes in some villages in Umuawa.

What distinguishes Don Lulu further is his belief in the power of youth and commitment to his community. Having begun his advocacy in his early 30s, he has consistently nurtured young people, mentoring, employing, and empowering them. His ventures in media and entertainment have not only put Abia on the map but have created platforms for creativity and talent to thrive.

His establishment of Don FM and Ikoro FM in his hometown is not just about communication; it is about job creation, information access, and grassroots development.

Even in politics, Don Lulu stands out. His aspiration in the 2023 PDP governorship primaries, where he emerged runner-up, was not driven by personal ambition but by a passion to bring impact-driven governance to Abia. Unlike the politics of bitterness and division which has defined our political landscape, his brand of politics is one of progress anchored on development, empowerment, people and community first.

Today, his footprints are visible across Abia: from the reconstruction of a dilapidated road to the ongoing establishment of a multi-million-naira LPG gas plant in his community.

These are not the projects of a man seeking applause; they are the living proof of a leader who understands that true greatness lies in service to others.

The emergence of figures like Mayor Lucky Igbokwe signals the dawn of a new order, a society where leaders must put people before power and community before self. In an era yearning for sincerity, accountability, and vision, his blend of business acumen, philanthropic heart, and political foresight makes him the very model of leadership the society desperately needs.
