Chuks Omesie: Governor Alex Otti commence vote buying ahead of 2027

I am involved in selling my vote to Alex Otti ahead of 2027, and honestly, my conscience has refused to let me rest. My spirit has been poking me like a mosquito at night, telling me to confess this strange and legal crime going on quietly in Abia State. Please read my story before INEC comes for me.

Even as a proud member of the Labour Party and an unapologetic supporter of Governor Alex Otti and his administration, some truths are too loud to hide. There are moments so sincere that closing your eyes to them is a sin. One of such truths is what Governor Alex Chioma Otti has been doing calmly consistently and confidently ahead of 2027. He has started buying votes. Not with brown envelopes. Not with rice and wrappers. Not with thugs. But with compassion dignity and responsible governance.

This vote-buying did not start today. It started from the very first day he took office and reached its emotional peak around December and January 2026.

One experience I personally witnessed must be told so that when Governor Alex Otti is returned in 2027 nobody will ask how he won. History must record that he won inside buses and inside hearts.

On Tuesday 13th Jan, 2026, i was travelling to Aba. As my custom, I chose public transportation because I am not Dangote and fuel is not smiling. Forty thousand naira to Aba and back is not beans. At the park, I noticed the new Abia Green Coaster buses loading to Aba. I said to myself let me test this government miracle. I asked the neatly dressed driver and his assistant if they were going to Aba. They said yes. I entered immediately before somebody changed their mind.

What I saw shocked me.

A brand new air-conditioned bus. Clean peaceful and dignifying. Nobody asked me for one naira. I checked my pocket twice just to be sure.

As we moved something sweeter happened. Passengers began to pray for Governor Alex Otti like it was a Sunday service. Men women youths everybody. Politics entered naturally and one thing was clear. Anybody planning to remove Alex Otti in 2027 should first remove Abians from his way. The passengers vowed that rigging would not work again in Abia.

Then one man dropped a statement that nearly made me miss my stop. He said Governor Alex Otti has turned Abia into Luxembourg because free transportation only happens in heaven or in storybooks.

That statement shook me.

I have lived in three countries outside Africa and visited over nine others. I have never seen free transportation anywhere. Not buses not trains not even electric ones. I searched my brain like Google and still found nothing.

On Wednesday returning to Umuahia I entered the same Green Coaster bus again free of charge. The praises continued. The joy continued. And tears followed. Abia once mocked and neglected can now offer free transportation with dignity. That journey alone saved me four thousand naira in transport fare and almost forty thousand naira in fuel if I had used my private car.

On Thursday I travelled to Isuikwuato to inspect a project. Again fortune smiled. Two Green Coaster buses were loading en route to Ohafia. Meaning passengers to Ubani Market Estate Uzuakoli Lohum Akoli Imenyi Akara Alayi Igbere Abriba and Ohafia would travel free. I entered quickly before my village people said the opportunity had passed.

Inside those buses, the story never changes. Joy laughter prayers and thanksgiving. Drivers are polite crew members are respectful and passengers feel like family. No pictures of Governor Otti inside the bus. No forced propaganda. But trust me his picture is permanently framed in the hearts of Abians.

Then a moment happened that broke everyone.

A woman about fifty years old stood because she had no seat. As praises continued she suddenly spoke with a shaking voice. Today I thank God for using Alex Otti to make me enter a brand new vehicle for the first time in my life.

Silence.

She continued. Most of what we call new cars in Nigeria are used cars from abroad which we call Belgian cars. How many people can truly buy a brand new car? But today I entered a brand new vehicle for free courtesy of Governor Alex Otti.

Tears filled my eyes.

Another woman said With this enjoyment Governor Alex Otti has bought my vote and the vote of my whole family. I will tell this story everywhere. Another added that when I get home I will use the transport money to buy bread for my children.

My people, I bent my head and cried tears of joy.

What a governor. What a season. What good leadership can do.

Yes, Governor Alex Otti is buying our votes before the election. But this one is legal constitutional and humane. No thugs. No harassment. No ballot snatching.

Now answer me honestly.

You are using smooth roads without constant mechanic visits has he not bought your vote? Free education saving parents stress has he not bought your vote? Functional health care facilities where none existed has he not bought your vote. Peace security street lights steady salaries paid before twenty eighth has he not bought your vote?

If this is vote selling then we will sell it happily. With these and many more, we will confidently echo Alex Otti until 2031.
