APC chieftain, Senator Adighije commends Abia APC members over rancour-free congresses

Elder statesman and founding chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) from Abia state, Senator Chris Adighije, has described the conduct of Tuesday’s All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia state congress as the first of its kind since he joined the party.

At the congress held in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, Senator Adighije observed that despite the large turnout of delegates, party leaders and members, the exercise was rancour-free, peaceful and successful.

He also noted that it was a clear departure from previous elections of the party that were full of rancor and divisions among members

The former Pro-chancellor of Federal University of Lokoja, Kogi State, expressed gratitude to God, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR party members, state, and national officials and other stakeholders for the success recorded.

The prominent Abia leader congratulated former member of Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Chukwu Chijioke on his emergence as new Abia state chairman of the APC and other newly-elected members of the state executive of the party, admonishing them to see themselves as torch bearers of the party in the state.

Senator Adighije equally stated that as party executives, their loyalty should primarily be to the party and its leaders at the national and state levels rather than those who nominated them.

He urged them to work together to ensure the continued peace and progress of the state.

The former NASS member commended the speaker of the house of representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu his exemplary leaderships and political sagacities that fostered the current unity in Abia chapter of the progressive party.

“The deputy speaker’s unique approach to governance, which seamlessly blends development with political inclusion, provided the harmonious atmosphere required for the successful conduct of these congresses,”the ex-federal lawmaker

Senator Adighije also commended minister of labour and productivity, Hon Nkeruika Onyejiocha and eminent leaders for their commitment to party unity towards repositioning APC for electoral success.
