The leadership of the Abia NDC Powerhouse, speaking on behalf of thousands of dedicated party faithful, aspirants, and grassroots mobilizers across the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia State, raises a critical public alarm.

We are forced to address you directly through this medium because the silence and apparent unresponsiveness of the National Working Committee (NWC) to the crisis in Abia State can no longer be justified.

1. The Reality on the Ground: A Dark Cloud Hovers
Let it be known to Sen. Seriake Dickson and Sen. Moses Cleopas that a heavy dark cloud is currently hovering over the electoral fortunes and future of the NDC in Abia State.
What was meant to be the solid bedrock of our presidential campaign for His Excellency, Peter Obi, is being systematically eroded from within.

The party in Abia State is fast drifting toward total collapse, driven by three distinct crises that the national leadership has allowed to fester:

Unilateral Imposition of Candidates: Arbitrary actions that bypass genuine stakeholders, disenfranchise loyal party members, and undermine internal democracy.

Balkanization of Party Structures: Parallel executive lists and unauthorized operations operating without central coordination.

Deepening Factionalisation: Unresolved conflicts between the camps of Dr. Okey Ezeala and Chief Ako Atuloma that divide our grassroots strength.

2. The Challenge to National Leadership
Leadership is tested in times of internal conflict. While the rank-and-file members in Abia State have made immense personal sacrifices, spent hard-earned resources, and organized tirelessly to build the NDC brand, the national leadership’s inaction suggests a dangerous detachment from local dynamics.

To fold hands in Abuja while the foundation in Abia crumbles is to prepare the ground for a costly electoral failure. The idea that Abia can be won for the presidential ticket while the state chapter remains fractured and imposed upon is a dangerous illusion.”

3. Our Demands & The Path Forward
If the NDC is serious about sweeping Abia State and delivering a decisive mandate for Peter Obi, the national leadership must act immediately:

Halt All Impositions: Cease all recognition of unilaterally imposed candidate lists that lack the consensus of verified Abia stakeholders.

Direct Full Harmonization: Mandate the immediate recognition and empowerment of the Abia NDC Powerhouse Mandate Framework to unify the conflicting factions under a single, functional campaign apparatus.

Grant Operational Authorization: Authorize the unified Abia Powerhouse as the official organ driving grassroots mobilization, voter education, and polling unit protection across the state.
