Abia ADC urges public to ignore fraudulent invitation for stakeholder’s meeting by impersonators

The Abia State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has informed the general public to disregard a fraudulent invitation to a supposed ADC general meeting.

In a statement on Friday by the state publicity secretary of the party, Chiamaka Ohaja, the invitation, which called for the attendance of local government chairman, secretaries, women and youth leaders, COPDEM members, stakeholders, and the public, on Saturday 2nd August 2025 by an impersonator, Iyke Nwoke.

According to the statement which partly read: “The legitimate chairman of the Abia State ADC is none other than the well-known popular leader, Don Norman Obinna (Agu Ibeku).

“The imposter’s objective, along with his sponsors, is to use this bogus meeting to defraud unsuspecting members of the public who wish to join the ADC and become part of the coalition movement.

“Please note that the so-called ADC state office located at KM 3 Aba/Port Harcourt Expressway has been vacated by the Abia State ADC following a coalition agreement, after which the ADC was declared the coalition party.

“The Abia State ADC is in the process of unveiling a new state-of-the-art office that aligns with the current status of the party. In the meantime, all ADC activities are taking place at 2 Macaulay Street, opposite Harriet Suite, Umuahia.

“Any correspondence should be directed to the State Secretary, Pastor Uche Ndom, at 0816 990 3639, or to the State Publicity Secretary, Chiamaka Ohaja, at 07067454910,”It added.

While urging the public to stay away from the purported meeting, the Abia ADC has notified the David Mark-national leadership about activities of these impersonators and is working with legal counsel to alert law enforcement agencies for immediate action.
