Yuletide: Senator Adighije gifts Okwu olokoro community 250 bags of rice, N7m

Elder statesman and former Pro-chancellor and chairman of Board Council of Federal University of Lokoja, Kogi state, Senator Chris Adighije and family, has gifted Okwu community in umuahia South local government area of Abia state 250 bags of rice and whopping sum of seven million naria to mark this year’s celebration of christmas and coming new year celebrations.

Senator Adighije who represented the people of Abia central senatorial district between 2003 to 2007 in the national assembly, hails from Okwu olokoro community.

He is the father of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Niger Delta Power Holding Company, Engr. Jennifer Adighije.

This benevolent gestures from Senator Chris Adighije was to ensure that no one is left out of the joy of the season.

Beyond the item shared and cash donation by this prominent Abia leader, it was about restoring hope, dignity, and a sense of belonging to many households during a difficult economic period.

However, Senator Chris Adighije who early this year marked his 80th birthday, reminded his Okwu people that for one to attract enormous blessings from God must be open-minded and give to humanities and the society.

Senator Adighije thanked Almighty God for the gifts of life, blessings, and grace, to witness this year’s Christmas celebration and reiterated his continued supports to human and community development.

Senator Adighije also thanked the people of okwu olokoro community for finding time to honour his call and therefore wished them a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year celebrations.

On their parts, a cross-section of indigenes from Okwu olokoro clan lauded the sterling human qualities of Senator Chris Ifeanyichukwu Adighije, describing him as a true son of the soil.

They noted that Senator Adighije’s contributions and roles towards socio-political, economic, and infrastructural developments o Nigeria cannot be overemphasized, appreciating the eminent Igbo leader for always remembering okwu community in his humanitarian activities.
