2027: Abia Group backs Igbokwe (Don Lulu) for Reps seat
Ibeku League of Professionals (IBLP), has hailed Mayor Lucky Igbokwe for his unwavering commitment to socio-economic development of Abia State and Nigeria.
The commendation by the think-tank group was contained in a statement signed by the President, Surveyor Samuel Aguiyi and the Secretary General, Amb. Chinedu Emeruwa.
The statement was issued at the end of the enlarged meeting of Ibeku League of Professionals, held on Sunday in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
The group whose membership is drawn from the academia, media, different political parties, noted that Atuma’s active roles towards deepening the present democracy in the country cannot be overstated, adding that Mayor Lucky Igbokwe otherwise known as Don Lulu, has distinguished him as one of the finest democrats in the annals of history of Abia State and Nigeria.
Recalling his numerous contributions, continued roles and already achieved strides towards socio-economic and infrastructural development in Abia state, the professional body however welcomed the recent decision of Mayor Lucky Igbokwe to vie for house of representatives seat to represent ikwuano/umuahia federal constituency in 2027 in the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group believed Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) when supported to emerge as member of the green chamber of the national assembly next year, would deliver effective, efficient, and responsive representation to the people of ikwuano/umuahia federal constituency.
According to IBLP, “There are no doubts that Mayor Lucky Igbokwe will initiate development-oriented bills and make good laws to strengthen statutory institutions of democratic governance in Nigeria.
“As a leaser with enormous capacity and contacts, would attract and ensure critical government ‘s projects are executed across the federal constituency. He would also ensure indigenes from ikwuano /umuahia areas benefits in Federal government-sponsored human welfarist programs in empowering his constituents and fostering even development in the federal constituency.
Having displayed capacity as a political and diplomat, Ibeku League of Professionals (IBLP) expressed confidence that Mayor Lucky Igbokwe will redefine legislative governance and representation of ikwuano/umuahia federal constituency at the house of representatives when rally-rounded and elected into the national assembly.
The think-tank body therefore pledged their total support and sincere commitment to Igbokwe’s bid assured to work collectively in ensuring victory of Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) into the federal house of representatives come next year.
While adducing the rationale behind their support to the ohuhu umuahia -born United nation mayor, Igbokwe, Ibeku League of Professionals (IBLP), maintained that other sections or clan in ikwuano/umuahia federal constituency had produced a federal lawmaker for one and two consecutive times, and further posited that it would be equitable and fair for Ohuhu umuahia extraction to produce a member of the Nigerian house of representatives for the people of ikwuano/umuahia federal constituency in 2027.
Ibeku League of Professionals (IBLP), urged the people of Ibeku ukwu ogurube to queue behind and urged eligible people from ikwuano/umuahia extraction who have not yet register for Permanent Voters card to visit designated INEC wards or center to get registered, reminding them that voters cards empowers to vote out incapable candidate and elect credible leaders of their choices.
“Without voters cards, you cannot participate in decision-making of the country. You won’t be able to effect a change in the nation’s leadership in situation of democratic misrule. But with your voters card which served as your power and weapon to vote, and to be voted for in any democratic election..
“They should not waste their votes for incompetence, and rather, they should cast their votes for candidates who possessed the need ability and capacity, candidates who are versatile, and candidates who can steer states’s affairs and sponsor good bills and make impactful and development -oriented laws that will further engender socio-economic and infrastructural projects, including strengthening democratic institutions of governance in our country. .
“We as citizens must take our destines in our hands and make bold decisions in ensuring candidates who do not have a well-thought out plans or lack policy direction towards addressing most teething problems of the masses. are not allowed to near any elective public offices.
“Finally, I am using this very important medium to urge all sons and daughters from ikwuano/umuahia federal constituency to choose wisely during forthcoming polls in Abia and all other states in Nigeria come next year,”IBLP admonished.
