Abia 2027:Apugo reaffirms loyalty to APC, pledges support for Opah

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Hon. Chukwudi Apugo, has reaffirmed his commitment to the party, declaring that he remains a loyal member of the APC and will fully support the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Eric Opah, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Apugo made the declaration during a meeting with the APC governorship candidate, putting to rest speculations about his political future following the party’s primary elections.

“I am still in the APC, and I will support the APC governorship candidate,” Apugo stated.

Speaking during the consultation and reconciliatory visit, Chief Opah commended Apugo’s commitment to the APC and assured him that there were greater opportunities ahead for young leaders who remained steadfast in the party.

Chief Eric Opah commended Apugo for his commitment to the party and his exemplary conduct after the primary election.

He described Apugo as a committed party man who accepted the outcome of his primary election in good faith and chose not to challenge the process.

Chief Opah stated that Hon. Apugo’s disposition reflects political maturity and demonstrates his commitment to the unity and progress of the APC.

He called on all party members to emulate such a spirit of sportsmanship and reconciliation as the party prepares for the 2027 general election.

Chief Opah used the opportunity to thank his host for his support during the primary election and also informed him that his name had been successfully uploaded to the INEC portal as the 2027 Abia APC governorship candidate.

Chief Opah assured, that his administration, if elected, would give priority to issues affecting young people, noting that youth development remains a cause that is particularly dear to Hon. Apugo.

He reiterated that his vision is to build a united Abia by eliminating the current divisions among the people and to usher an atmosphere of peace, inclusiveness and collective progress.

Chief Opah further pledged to run a government anchored on integrity, transparency and prudent management of public resources, stressing that good governance must be driven by accountability and the welfare of the people

The meeting ended with a renewed call for unity among APC members, as leaders reaffirmed their resolve to work together towards securing victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.
