Legislation, a business of Experience

In 2023,ndi Isuikwuato/Umunneochi paid the ultimate sacrifice, when they allowed Obi wave to woo them into exchanging an experienced Legislator for a new face. Was it an unforgivable moral sin? No! But in the business of Legislation, experience matters more than morals.

For example,Prior to 2023,Federal employment in this Constituency was rampant and our youths got meaningfully engaged in contrast to the Keke and Okada empowerment of today.

Prior to 2023,our Rep succeeded in pushing over 4 bills that became laws in Nigeria today including the law that has made it compulsory for hospitals to treat gunshot victims without waiting for police report. Today,3 years down the lane or drain,we cannot point to one bill from our current Rep that has passed 3rd reading. This is a negative shift from what we had in the past.

Prior to 2023,Waec fees and scholarship were paid in full to schools unlike what we have today, where our children are tasked with coming for a mock examination and no guarantee that they wil be selected .

Ndi Isuikwuato Umunneochi made a mistake in 2023,but it will be corrected in 2027…Nne is still on duty.

Chief Hycent Maduakor (Enyi Oha), a political analyst, writes from Umuanyi in Isuikwuato LGA of Abia State.
