“Okey Ezeala is not our member”-Abia ADC insists

The Abia state chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has frowned at alleged impersonation of one Okey Ezeala as a member of the state executive committee of the party.

In a release signed by the Abia chairman of the ADC, Chief Emole Onwuasoanya and the State Publicity secretary, Rev P.C Okeiyi, made available to journalists on Sunday, the leadership insisted that Mr Okey Ezeala is not a member of ADC and does not hold any position within the party in Abia state.

According to the release which partly stated: “He is neither the State Secretary nor the State Chairman of the party. His recent claims and activities are false, misleading, and calculated to cause confusion and disunity within the party.

“It is on record that Mr. Okey Ezeala previously served as Secretary during the defunct Deacon Iyke Nwoke-led structure, an era and leadership that have long been dissolved and have no relevance or recognition within the present ADC structure in Abia State.

“Furthermore, prior to the aborted ADC stakeholders’ meeting held at Abia Hotels, Mr. Ezeala was reportedly going around presenting himself as the “authentic State Chairman” of ADC, a claim that clearly exposes the inconsistency and falsehood of his assertions.

“The question therefore remains: Who appointed Mr. Okey Ezeala as ADC Abia State Secretary or Chairman? The answer is simple—no constituted authority of the ADC did.

“In view of the foregoing, the general public is hereby strongly advised not to engage in any activity, transaction, or political arrangement in the name of ADC Abia State with Mr. Okey Ezeala. The State Working Committee of ADC, Abia State, completely dissociates itself from him, as he has never been a member of the party and lacks the mandate to speak or act on behalf of ADC Abia State.

“All Local Government Area (LGA) and Ward Executives are also directed to avoid any form of association with Mr. Okey Ezeala in matters concerning the party.

“This notice is issued in the interest of clarity, unity, and the integrity of the African Democratic Congress in Abia State”.
