ADC not for sale — Ex-presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu tells Atiku, others

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the 2023 election, Dumebi Kachikwu, has blasted former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, saying that the party is not for sale.

Kachikwu spoke at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.

According to him, Atiku orchestrated the coalition movement under ADC to hijack power for his personal gain.
He accused Atiku of wanting to hijack power from southern Nigeria because he believed people from the region should not be President of Nigeria.
He insisted that ADC currently has no chairman or any leadership pending a matter before the court.
“There is a clear difference between a political coalition and a gang. The first has noble ideals, while the gang seeks power for personal gain.
“They are seeking to hijack the ADC for their personal gain. They are on a rescue mission to rescue themselves from the situation they placed the country in.
“Your money will not get you anywhere in the ADC. If you are to build your mission on a fraudulent misrepresentation, this shows who they are.
“They stage events such as defections into ADC around the country.
“This is the typical strategy of our old politicians; we have enough of it. They need to sing a new song.
“Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a man whose past antecedent shows that he doesn’t believe that anyone from southern Nigeria should be president, orchestrated this charade for his personal benefit.
“I want to reiterate that ADC is not for sale and is not an old people’s home,” Kachikwu said.
This comes as Atiku on Wednesday announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
On Thursday, Dele Memodu, Atiku’s ally, also dumped the PDP for ADC
